The CureMPS Hoedown for Hope is more than a fundraiser — it’s proof that small, committed communities can drive real scientific progress, even in ultra-rare diseases.

CureMPS is a family-led fundraising and awareness effort founded after our son, Simon, was diagnosed with MPS IV A (Morquio syndrome) in 2019. At the time, global research momentum for this disease had largely stalled. Rather than wait, our family chose to act — raising funds, building community, and reigniting hope. Since 2020, we’ve raised more than $350,000, directly helping unlock the first promising new science for MPS IV A since 2012.

The Hoedown for Hope is our annual celebration of the power of community! Join us for live music, line dancing games, food trucks, drinks, door prizes and a whole lot of fun! This year our goal is to raise $50,000 to unlock a matching $50,000 contribution to a promising new t-cell engineering project out of the University of Minnesota – the research team needs our help to keep momentum.

Music by Whiskey Business, The Rob Curtis Band, and Mat Geddes.

We are seeking sponsors and community partners to help catalyze giving, amplify impact, and show what’s possible when local support meets breakthrough science. Here’s how you can get involved in this year’s Hoedown for Hope!
